With FireWire (IEEE-1394) technology the AVT provides complete control of the attached robotic VCR. The user can control tape speed, tape direction, and tape positioning. The tape position is synchronized with the map display using SMPTE time codes. The user can click on a point on the map and the tape drive automatically will move to the exact video frame over that point.  The user can then grab the frame, rotate it, zoom and pan, display individual spectral bands, automatically annotate with nadir, principal point, and north arrow.  Furthermore, the user can display the UTM coordinates of features within the grabbed image.
